• Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?

    Tickets must be purchased in advance as all tours tend to sell out ahead of time. To maximize your chances of getting the day and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard from our website. Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted.

  • How much food is served on the food tour?

    Pompano Beach Food Tours serve enough food that for most participants, a meal afterwards is not necessary. With the combination of drink and food tastings, most participants are comfortably full after our food tours. Please understand our food tours are not intended to replace breakfast and lunch combined, so please consider eating breakfast before the tour.

  • How much walking is involved? Is it a fast-paced tour?

    Tours generally last approximately 2 1/2 hours. You can expect to walk approximately 1 mile at a comfortable pace, stopping at each tasting location (5 stops).

  • Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?

    If you are comfortable going over the Atlantic Blvd Bridge, yes. Please contact us with specific questions about accessibility.

  • Does the tour leader accept gratuities?

    Yes! Gratuities are standard for Tour Guides and greatly appreciated. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.

    For our Private Tours, a 20%  Gratuity is recommended as these take more time, planning and coordinating than the daily tours.  Also, these tours tend to be in addition to the daily tours.

  • Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

    No, Pompano Beach Food Tours do not finish at the same location as the meeting point. The ending point of our tours are a short walk from the starting point. However, your guide will normally be going back to the starting point and is happy to direct you back.

  • Are the Food Tours run year-round?

    The Food Tours are run year-round. Click on our Tour Calendar to see the updated list of events.

  • If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?

    If you are bringing an infant / or a child that will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them. However, please do let us know if you will be attending with an infant or young child when you purchase tickets in the Notes section.

  • Is wine tasting included on the tour?

    There is a wine based craft cocktail served on the Lauderdale by the Sea Lunches. Also, we do participate in a German beer tasting  as well as frozen drink tasting on the Leisurely Lunch Tours. The Sunset Stroll includes the frozen drink tasting.

  • Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not eating?

    Yes- all adult guests must purchase a ticket whether they plan to partake in the food tastings or not. Non-paying individuals will not able to join the tour for any reason(s). The ticket fees help cover the costs of all the food samplings and also to pay for your tour guide(s) wages, whom are offering valuable commentary and restaurant information during our tours.

  • Where do each of the Food Tours start?

    The Leisurely Lunch and the Sunset Stroll Tours starts at The Sands Harbor Marina. 

    The Lauderdale by the Sea Lunches starts at La Cucina.

  • Can I book a private group tour?

    Yes, Pompano Beach Food Tours Private Group Tours are available for all tours offered. To set up or learn more, please visit our Private Group Tours page and submit a Private Group Tour Request Form. A member of Pompano Beach Food Tours staff will respond within 24 hours.

  • When is the best time to take the tour?

    We highly recommend taking our food tours at the beginning of your visit so you can experience the South Florida Food Scene early in your stay if you are visiting from out of town.  We are convinced you will want to return to you favorite food tasting locations. Additionally, some of the locations we visit will be extending a discount upon a return visit to Pompano Beach Food Tour guests. Since tours usually sell out well in advance, there is not a better day of the week versus another.

  • What restaurants will we visit on the tour?

    A list of all the current tasting locations can be found at the Sunset Dinner Tour, the Leisurely Lunch Tour and the Lauderdale by the Sea Lunches pages. Food-tasting locations can change without notice.

  • Are tours offered only in English?

    Currently, we only offer tours in English. We believe that food is the universal language!

  • Are bathrooms available during the tour?

    Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations.

  • If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

    We do not provide a waiting list. If you are visiting the area, check with your hotel concierge about possible openings. Please email us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.

  • Are gift certificates available?

    Yes, Pompano Beach Food Tours Gift Certificates are available. To purchase or learn more about our Gift Certificates, please call or visit our Gift Certificates page .

  • What about taking children on the tour?

    Our tours range from 2 to 3. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tour is appropriate for your child.

  • Do your tours have anything to offer a local resident?

    Pompano Beach Food Tours are perfect for both locals as well as those visiting the area.

  • Can I shop during the tour?

    We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour so that we can stay on our food-tasting schedule. The tours are on a schedule to arrive at each tasting location so its important to stay on schedule so the food is freshly prepared for the participants. Most tasting locations may extend a discount to Pompano Beach Food Tour guests upon returning.

  • Are any beverages served on the tour?

    Yes! Pompano Beach Food Tours have a drink tasting included in the tour.  However, we encourage you to bring a water bottle along for the walk.

  • What happens if it rains?

    The tours are held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. Ponchos may be available in case of sudden weather changes.  However, we advise to check the weather conditions for your days event and dress appropriately.

  • Are cameras allowed on the tour?

    Yes. Cameras  are allowed on the tour. We strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tour.

  • Is there parking near the tour meeting point?

    Yes, we encourage you to use the City of Pompano Beach Oceanside Parking Lot, located on the east side of Riverside Drive, across from the Sands Harbor Marina for the both the Sunset Stroll and the Leisurely Lunch. You can park at any public parking lot in Lauderdale by the Sea for the Lauderdale by the Sea Lunches. However, the first tasting location and meeting for this tour is La Cucina located in the Eagle Ray Plaza at: 250 Commercial Blvd, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL 33308.
